Here are the 15 best tips for men to live their best life.

1.    Always dress well for the occasion

First impressions count. Dressing well helps with several things. People treat you differently when you’re dressed well. It’s just the way it is, use it to your advantage. Being well dressed also makes you feel better and more confident. Wearing appropriate, well fitted clothes, makes you look better. As superficial you think it might be, looking better will make you more confident.

Being more confident and people treating you differently combined absolutely makes it worth the effort.

Keep in mind; dressing well doesn’t have to mean expensive clothes. Appropriate for the occasion and well fitted is much more important than the price.

2.    Life is unfair. Deal with it

Life might not be what you want it to be right now. What are you going to do about it? Complaining that you’re the victim of this or that? Or are you going to solve your problems and improve your life. The masculine solution would be the latter.

Yes, you might have a disadvantage that other people don’t have to deal with. It’s unfair but it’s not going to change by itself.

Suggested post: Nobody cares about you.

3.    You can always get better at something

Bored? Good! Now you’ve got time to improve in some way. It doesn’t matter what it is, learning to become better at something is always useful. Some skills might be more useful than others but learning something is positive nonetheless. There is no way you have mastered all the necessary life skills to optimize your life so, go practice something.

Suggested post: Realize you can always improve

4.    Don’t give a f*ck about what others think of you

A masculine man is confident in what he is and what he has. Doing things because of other people’s opinions is a recipe for a life you don’t want. You’re living your own life, not someone else’s fantasy.

Are you buying a certain car because you really like it and you can afford it? Great. Are you buying it because your neighbors are looking down on your old car? That doesn’t matter.

Suggested post: Don’t give a F*ck!

5.    Nobody else is going to make your life great.

You’ve got to take care of yourself. You might feel like you’re owed certain things in your life because of several reasons. Nobody cares. Nobody is going to give you the life you want for nothing. You’ve got to take care of it yourself.

If you’ve got a goal in your mind for your life, do everything you can to reach it. Don’t know where to start? Just take a small step in the right direction, and then the next one and the next one….

Suggested post: You take care of you.

6.    Be comfortable being a masculine man

Don’t be ashamed of being masculine. You are a man, being masculine is what comes naturally to you. Don’t let all the negative press around masculinity discourage you. Being masculine does not make you evil.

Masculine and feminine can be complimentary. The cold war between the genders like there seems to be now isn’t good for anyone. Everyone trying to avoid being masculine isn’t good for anyone.

Suggested post: It’s OK to be a masculine man.

7.    Learn how to groom and be consistent

Nobody likes the homeless look.  Like dressing well, being well groomed is a basic skill any man should know/learn. With grooming, consistency is important. If you’re not good at doing your grooming on time before you start looking like a bum, get into a routine. Do things the same time of the day or day of the week. This makes it easier to get everything you need.

One more tip: When your hair starts looking bad, you’re too late with your haircut. Get your hair cut again before it starts looking like a bird’s nest. To prevent this, make a new appointment every time you’re getting a haircut. This way you get on a consistent schedule.

8.    Avoid debt for any depreciating assets

Avoid the middle class financial death trap of consumer debt. Don’t borrow money for cars, phones, holidays, clothes, etc. If you are able to save up for that item, defer your gratification and save the money. It’ll save you the interest and stress that debt brings. Having debt is like being enslaved to the bank. That wont make you a better man.

If you think you won’t be able to save up for that particular item anytime soon, what makes you think you can afford the debt?

9.    Be in control of your finances at all times

An extension of the previous tip is to be in control of your finances. The easiest way to do this: Make a budget, stick to it. Spend less than you make.

If you’re not managing your own finances because you’ve got a lot of money, you should at least know what is going on. Don’t put yourself in a position where other people can gain control of your finances.

10. Don’t let women tell you how to be a man

Women will not give you good advice on how to be a man. A fish can’t tell a fisherman how to do his job. I’m not saying you should never listen to women. We can always learn from each other. On the topic of masculinity you might not get useful information however. If you want to know why I say that, read this article.

11. Take care of your physical and mental health

This is a basic life tip for all human beings. Take care of yourself. Exercise consistently, as many times a week as you can manage. Mental health and physical health are related in many ways. Taking care of your body will likely improve your mental health as well. If that’s not enough don’t be afraid to talk to a good therapist.

12. Making a bad decision is better than making no decision

Don’t be afraid to make a decision. When you make a decision you keep moving. If you don’t make a decision, you come to a stop. Everyone knows standing still means you’re going backwards. If you’re in the middle of the road and a truck is barreling towards you, staying in place is the worst thing you can do. Don’t try to make the perfect decision. Just try to avoid the worst decision.

13. Don’t be a “nice guy”

The nice guy is only nice to get things in return. When this perceived entitlement doesn’t materialize, they blow up and get angry. Don’t be that person. By all means, do nice things for people. Just don’t expect anything in return.

Suggested post: A gentleman is not a “nice guy”

14. Strive to become a better person

While you shouldn’t be a “nice guy”, being a good person isn’t a bad thing. It’s just that a good person is not an awkward, nerdy “nice guy”. Working on improving your character is difficult and takes a long time but it will be worth it in the end.

15. Have goals and ambitions

As a man you have to give direction to your whole life. Everyone know someone who is going through life without any direction and goals. These are usually not people you’d want to change places with. Take control of your life and make sure you have some goals and ambitions. Obviously everyone’s goals and ambitions are different. As long as it’s legal, it’s all good.
